Deer Park Association Beach Renewal Project

Construction has begun on the installation of Best Management Practices to manage stormwater runoff and reduce erosion at the Deer Park Association's beach in Meredith! The work will include the installation of drainage swales, a sediment forebay and plunge pool and a bioretention/infiltration basin to manage and treat the runoff, as well as water bars to help direct flow and stabilization and revegetation of the eroded slope.

This site was identified as a high-priority location in our Lake Winnisquam Watershed-Based Plan due to the excess sediment and nutrients entering the lake. So we’re thrilled to partner with the Deer Park Association to get these improvements done and help protect water quality

The project was designed by Comprehensive Environmental Inc. and is being constructed by Total Grounds Landscaping Inc. Funding is provided in part by a 2022 Watershed Assistance Grant to the Winnisquam Watershed Network from the NHDES with Clean Water Act Section 319 funds from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
