Here's your latest update from WWN! Surface water temperatures warmed slightly from last week due to more seasonable weather and plenty of sunshine. Water clarity was poor, and the worst measured since late June. We have to wonder if recent holiday boating traffic and low water levels caused higher turbidity levels and reduced water clarity, but several other factors could be at play including cloud and wind conditions at time of sampling and algal growth. The upper edge of the thermocline pushed deeper into the water column, and the lake level has continued to drop due to lack of rainfall and evaporation. Public beaches remained advisory free, and we should note that the beach sampling season has come to an end. There are no current Cyanobacteria Warnings or Watches however conditions can change rapidly. For current advisories, watches, and warnings visit NHDES' Healthy Swimming Mapper.
